Hague Tension Mast Holder

I use this item as a fixture for the tension rods of my knitting machines. It can be fitted to the table behind the machine and works with all the different tension rod orientations, depending on which way you fix it. The slot can be fixed at North to South for Brother machines, or West to East for Knitmaster machines. It also allows you to replace the old basic tension unit of a very vintage machine, with a more modern one, by fixing it to the table behind the machine

I am a machine knitter and I have bought several of these over the past couple of years, for use with vintage knitting machines that often have an inefficient tension unit. I put this holder onto my knitting work bench behind the machine and it will house a modern tension unit. My workbench has a very thick MDF top, so I have replaced the bolts with small screws and it makes a solid attachment. I also have one at the back of my standard - fold up - machine knitting table and that one is fitted with the bolts provided. Either method offers sturdy support for a modern tension rod and unit.
